In 2005, this work:
          - received the 1st Prize of the S.E.M.A.,
          - was nominated with the Concourse “the Intelligence of the Hand” of the Foundation Liliane Bettencourt- Schueller,
          - like at the Summit of  Luxury and Creation in the "rareness"category !
   Model created in single part, cannot be carried out any more.
Conceived by Ferdinand PORSCHE, this" racing beast " controlled by Bernd ROSEMEYER, equipped with a V16 engine developing 520 HP enabling him to reach more than 340 km/h, adopted very advancing mechanical solutions in the competition (still in application at the end of the century): engine placed in central rear position, with cockpit in the very front of the car; suspension by torsion bars; front axle with parallel and longitudinal arms; tubular frame; etc…
 


This 1/8 scaled "mechanical sculpture" of the car asked approximately 2500 working hours:
 
- direction by screw box since removable steering wheel;
- functional suspension by torsion bars placed in the tubes of the frame;
- wheels assembled on grooved axes;
- screw nuts of wheels threaded on the right and on the left ways;
- authentic Continental tires;
- unscrewing stoppers of radiator, oil tank, gasoline tank and oil pump breather;
- removable front and rear bonnets with elastic quick disconnects;
- accelerator actuating the twin carburettors;
- functional hand brake;
- directional windshield;
- seat in skin of lamb;
- steering wheel sheathed of Nubuck;
-  etc. …
